Who We Are

CRP Asia was born from a direct resolution of the XIVth Conference of the Current for Permanent Revolution – Fourth International, held in São Paulo in December 2025: "On the proposal of the comrades of the March to Socialism group, we vote to create a website in English, aimed at the Asian public, which we will organize jointly."

That conference — attended by delegates from 14 member organizations across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Bolivia, Venezuela, Uruguay, Peru, Costa Rica, the United States, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy, alongside invited groups from South Korea, Belgium, and Canada — reaffirmed a revolutionary, internationalist, and anti-imperialist strategy and marked the relaunch of the organization under its new name. It emphasized the growing importance of East and Southeast Asia as home to a vast new proletariat and a decisive weight in the global capitalist economy.

The conference was preceded by a rally of over 1,000 people in São Paulo, following a rally of over 2,000 in Paris and hundreds in Madrid and Barcelona earlier that year. In 2026 the current is organizing an international seminar on the Theory of Permanent Revolution in the 21st Century — open to other organizations and in multiple languages.
